At the mere hint of a lockdown – I knew it was time to get out of the big city and find place of refuge.  I remember an old friend had moved to a place called “Paradise Valley” and that sounded like the perfect hide out for a few weeks.  I wasn’t sure where that was, exactly, but I knew it was somewhere in Montana.  I trusted the still small voice of my GPS – and the further North we travelled it became clear that I would need to stop and buy some long pants. Then long underwear – then gloves and a few Carhartt jackets. Then Canada Goose. You can’t go wrong with the right clothes in a place like Montana! 

That two-week trip turned into a complete life change.  My friend took me from the awe-inspiring, breathtaking views of her valley, into a small community called Livingston.  I fell hard. I knew that this would have to be home.  I had all my possessions packed and shipped and I accidentally opened Trû North Café on May 10, 2020.  This was the best decision of my life.  In addition to the breathtaking scenery, I quickly fell in love with the community.  I’ve made more friends here in a few short months than I had in years living in an urban center.  Here you will find authors, artists, musicians, ranchers and all the cool kids! Come visit. But I must warn you, you may never leave.  And that may be the best decision of your life. I know it was for me.
